Field operator
Pepper
The crew’s legal and social-engineering mind, with a physical presence that can change a conversation.

Pepper is a field operator aboard the Rebel Ascendant. His work includes the legal and social dimensions of getting a crew through a situation: what an authority expects, what a person will accept, and which identity a conversation needs.
Social engineering
A convincing cover depends on behavior as well as documentation. Pepper can adopt the tone needed for a minor authority or a difficult neighbor. His size also affects an encounter before he speaks, giving his presence a practical place in the team’s work.
Looking for options
Pepper pays attention to the uses of a place. At Agartha, he investigates structural features and access routes, looking for options the crew might need later.
His role brings conversation, physical space, and preparation into the same field of attention. It is one part of the varied work needed to keep a small covert crew moving.
