Field operator
Nobu
A field operator who reads protocol and danger with equal precision.
Nobu is a field operator aboard the CSS Rebel Ascendant, working under a call sign and borrowed identities. He handles checkpoints, cover stories, and armed extractions alongside Pepper and Goblin.
Shorter and heavier than his fellow operators, he wears his hair in a chonmage above an unkempt beard. His interest in samurai history extends to calligraphy: he practices kanji and admires the discipline of getting a brushstroke right. Goblin teases him about being from Morgantown, West Virginia. Nobu claims to have absorbed its Japanese tourism industry by osmosis.
